The Behaviours and actions of others…

Today I would like to chat about the behaviours, actions and attitudes of others around you. And what their impact is on you when you are around it. This could be at home, work, school, shops, in your car, etc.

Hmmm a thought just came to me after what I was seeing this morning…

Allow me to set the scene…

I met my son at the swimming centre where his school has their compulsory school swimming. I noticed many teachers looking a little stressed and anxious. Busily ushering, directing, demanding, and in the end getting frustrated with the kids because they are not doing what the adults wanted them to do. I know this because I too had these behaviours and did this for many years and got it down to a fine art!

With my clear, new, bright, changed mindset glasses on… this is the picture I saw.
In my eyes, the kids were beautifully behaved. Keeping in mind these great kids are aged between 5-7 and there is water involved! Having said that, their behaviours were typical and perfect.

It struck a chord in me, that “do we want our children to be surrounded by stressed, frustrated adults who are ultimately not in control of themselves?” Adults that potentially have the behaviour around situations out of their control and therefore an attitude of an adolescent.

You are probably thinking, wow that is a bit harsh. Yes, maybe. I do know that it does not serve you or anyone else around you to have these attitudes, behaviours and thoughts.

What I ask you is this…
What has been your experience when interacting with others?
Who do you want to model your kids?
Calm, relaxed, and in control adults?
Or stressed, anxious, frustrated and out of control adults?

Now there is no right or wrong answer here, only the one that you choose based on what you know and your experiences. Please share your views, I would love to hear them…
